About the Role

Join the Unified Experience team to build seamless collector journeys across Fanatics Live, Marketplace, Instant Rips, Collections, Topps, and future experiences. This role focuses on owning the shared Android foundation, including identity and session handling, Compose components, navigation, and migration paths, enabling multiple teams to ship faster and enhance the collector experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship shared Android foundations, including reusable modules, Compose components, and internal libraries, treating consuming engineers as first-class customers.
  • Own unified identity, session, and entitlement flows across surfaces for a seamless collector sign-in experience.
  • Lead migrations and consolidations against live users, including persistence and data model changes, deprecating divergent implementations, and phased rollouts.
  • Own features end-to-end, encompassing API contracts, state and effect handling, Compose UI, testing, and release.
  • Build deep linking, navigation, and cross-surface handoffs to create a unified product experience.
  • Write comprehensive test coverage, including unit tests, Flow and coroutine tests, and Compose UI tests.
  • Instrument shipped features and monitor production performance, including event tracking, feature flags, staged rollouts, and crash triage.
  • Own Android performance, focusing on startup time, jank, and memory usage under load.
  • Review pull requests with a focus on identifying defects, prioritizing issues, and providing coaching.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions regarding modularization, state management, effect handling, and failure handling.
  • Mentor junior engineers and elevate the team's quality standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building consumer-facing Android applications at scale.
  • Comfortable working across team boundaries and influencing engineers outside of direct management.
  • Structured commit/PR discipline tied to a project tracker (Linear, Jira, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) for real work.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, or equivalent).
  • Experience with static analysis tools (ktlint, detekt, or equivalent).
  • Experience with dependency injection (Hilt, Dagger, Koin, or equivalent).
  • Experience with GraphQL on Android (Apollo Kotlin, schema-driven development, codegen, subscriptions).
  • Experience with multi-module Gradle architecture (clean module boundaries, convention plugins, version catalogs).
  • Experience building shared architecture across multiple apps (reusable modules, SDKs, or internal libraries).
  • Experience with unidirectional state management at scale (MVI or comparable architecture like Molecule, Orbit, Mavericks).
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose (state hoisting, recomposition and stability, performance-aware composition, Compose Navigation).
  • Experience with Kotlin (coroutines, structured concurrency, Flow).
