About the Role
The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) at CAMH is seeking a part-time, contract Research Analyst to support research focused on improving mental health care for transgender and gender-diverse populations. The role involves supporting a study evaluating a gender-affirming Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills group and contributing to knowledge translation and program development.
Responsibilities
- Lead research study activities including participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, enrolment, randomization, scheduling, and follow-up.
- Conduct standardized diagnostic interviews (e.g., MINI, SCID) and administer structured clinical interviews and standardized outcome measures.
- Conduct qualitative interviews with study participants and contribute to qualitative data analysis.
- Manage study databases and maintain accurate research documentation in accordance with GCP, REB requirements, and institutional policies.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documents, including REB applications, amendments, annual renewals, and study documentation.
- Monitor study progress, participant retention, protocol adherence, and data quality.
- Coordinate research activities with clinical staff delivering the intervention and assist with behavioural intervention fidelity monitoring.
- Perform quantitative data management and statistical analyses independently, with consultation and guidance as appropriate.
- Assist with interpretation of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods findings.
- Contribute to conference abstracts, scientific presentations, peer-reviewed manuscripts, grant applications, and other knowledge translation activities.
- Collaborate with clinicians, scientists, trainees, and community partners.
- Support additional research activities within the research program as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.
- One (1) year of relevant research experience.
- Experience conducting research with human participants.
- Experience administering structured or semi-structured diagnostic interviews (e.g., MINI, SCID) and standardized clinical assessments.
- Experience conducting qualitative interviews and qualitative data analysis.
- Experience using REDCap or similar electronic data capture platforms.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary research team.
