About the Role
Join our community of food people as a Diesel Mechanic. This role is crucial for maintaining our fleet of diesel equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. We offer a strong safety culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and repair diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, and lift gates.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to DOT standards.
- Respond to road calls, coordinate with third-party vendors, and collaborate with business partners on repair plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Document equipment repairs and parts used via fleet maintenance software on a tablet.
- Provide backup support to other maintenance shop personnel.
- Assume increased responsibility and pursue additional certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
- Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting competency for equipment repairs.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in administering an appropriate PM program.
- Must furnish own personal hand tools.
- Ability to read and write legibly and possess basic mathematical skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
