About the Role

As the leading talent investor, EF is a people-focused business. This 12-month fixed-term role will lead the People Operations team and strategy, acting as a trusted partner to global and local leadership teams to deliver people projects and initiatives during a period of scaling. The role requires comfort with detail and understanding the full scope of the team's work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations, acting as the go-to person for issues ranging from performance and conduct to grievances.
  • Provide managers with clear, practical advice to handle people issues confidently and consistently.
  • Work with external employment counsel and own employee relations cases through to resolution.
  • Monitor employee relations across the business, flagging recurring issues or risks to leadership.
  • Own EF’s performance process end-to-end, ensuring smooth and timely execution of each cycle.
  • Support managers through the performance process, assisting with feedback, underperformance management, and development conversations.
  • Ensure managers and employees understand performance process expectations.
  • Analyze performance data and feedback to identify issues or trends.
  • Oversee EF’s cash incentive processes, ensuring market benchmarking and alignment with compensation policy.
  • Manage the bi-annual bonus process from calculation and approvals to communications and payroll inputs.
  • Serve as the point person for employee and manager questions regarding cash incentives.
  • Monitor employee engagement across EF, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead employee feedback processes, including engagement and pulse surveys, translating feedback into actionable plans.
  • Own the Global Summit event end-to-end, ensuring high quality and impact on employee experience.
  • Partner with leadership and Finance on workforce planning, progression, and succession.
  • Track hiring plans, headcount changes, and organizational movements across four locations.
  • Own EF’s immigration processes, supporting employees with visas and permanent residency.
  • Manage and support the People Ops Associate, providing clear priorities and guidance.
  • Ensure core People processes run smoothly across all locations.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify or automate People processes.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of experience in People/HR with a strong track record across the full employee lifecycle and employee relations.
  • Experience working with employees across at least two of the following jurisdictions: UK, France, India, and the US, with an understanding of different employment environments and requirements.
  • Genuinely interested in people and motivated by building strong relationships and understanding how people work.
  • Comfortable switching between the bigger picture and the detail, with the ability to think long-term while getting things done day-to-day.
  • Able to balance what's right for people with what's right for the business, making pragmatic decisions.
  • Meticulous in managing people processes, records, and data, with a strong focus on accuracy and follow-through.
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communicator who can build trust and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a high-trust, low-touch environment, takes responsibility for getting things done and brings solutions.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively in a small team while being comfortable taking independent ownership.
  • Willing to get into the details and solve problems.
  • Comfortable being visible, building relationships, and having difficult conversations.
  • Comfortable challenging and being challenged, working through disagreements, and finding pragmatic solutions.
  • Comfortable using judgment and figuring things out when there isn't an obvious playbook.
