About the Role
FX Matt Brewery is seeking a hands-on Packaging Supervisor to lead a skilled team. This frontline leadership role is accountable for line efficiency, labor utilization, cost control, quality, and safety across all packaging operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive execution of the daily and weekly production schedule across all packaging lines.
- Continuously monitor line performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks, downtime, and throughput issues in real time.
- Lead daily shift meetings to align the team on priorities, safety topics, and production targets.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to minimize unplanned downtime and support preventive maintenance execution.
- Track and optimize labor utilization across shifts; adjust staffing to match production demand and reduce overtime costs.
- Monitor and reduce material loss and waste on packaging lines; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify efficiency gaps and drive measurable improvements.
- Report production results and variance explanations to brewery leadership on a timely basis.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a robust SOP program for all packaging and sanitation operations.
- Ensure all operations comply with SQF certification standards, HACCP requirements, and internal quality protocols.
- Champion safety programs and OSHA compliance; enforce safe work practices across all shifts.
- Facilitate two-way communication between packaging employees and brewery leadership; promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives and drive a positive, change-ready team culture.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience in food and beverage or CPG manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership in a high-speed, high-volume packaging or production environment.
- Proven ability to manage labor efficiency, control costs, and drive line performance improvements.
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs in a regulated manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with flexibility to work extended or off-shift hours as business demands require.
