About the Role
Perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department, specifically as a floors technician, to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. Adhere to established schedules and coordinate with nursing services for cleaning in resident areas.
Responsibilities
- Follow work/cleaning schedules.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed or called.
- Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary or directed.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
- Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Honor the residents’ personal and property rights.
- Inform residents when it is necessary to move their personal possessions during cleaning procedures.
- Maintain the care and use of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas.
- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
Requirements
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, and disinfecting solutions.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
