About the Role
The Exposure Management function is crucial for AXIS's success across all business lines, ensuring an appropriate catastrophe risk strategy. This role focuses on exposure management for AXIS Managing Agency syndicates, supporting oversight and reporting of catastrophe risk on the Lloyd’s platform. It provides clear, timely, and reliable information to support decision-making and ensures accurate external reporting to Lloyd’s.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal and external Exposure Management reporting requirements for AXIS Managing Agency syndicates.
- Support Group cat accumulations and MI as necessary.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of regulatory returns for Lloyd's business (RDS, LCM, PBO, etc.).
- Serve as the key point of contact for Exposure Management with Lloyd's.
- Liaise with non-nat cat exposure management teams (Casualty, Cyber, etc.) for accurate exposure reporting.
- Produce and analyze Nat Cat-focused exposure management MI for senior syndicate stakeholders.
- Handle ad hoc queries from Actuarial, Risk, and Underwriting, providing insights into portfolio movements, accumulations, and catastrophe risk drivers.
- Contribute to Group roll-ups and reporting through detailed analysis and commentary in formal reporting packs.
- Work with internal developers and external software providers to maintain and enhance Exposure Management tools.
- Provide Nat Cat exposure analysis and MI to support the reinsurance purchase process, including outward structure optimization and portfolio validation.
- Assist with scenario analysis and accumulation reporting as required.
- Review and assess methodology for allocating catastrophe capital to underwriting classes and calculate during planning.
- Ensure Nat Cat feeds into the internal capital model are accurate and timely.
- Assist in assessing non-modelled perils and regions and identifying appropriate methods to capture these exposures.
- Support event response activity, primarily for Nat Cat events, by producing timely loss estimates and exposure summaries.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of catastrophe modelling software is required.
- Experience analyzing and reporting PML movements at portfolio level.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Skills
- Experience with Touchstone is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Nat Cat concepts and terminology, including PMLs, Exposure, TVaR, YLT, and related metrics.
- Proficient in Excel and SQL.
- Prior experience reporting Nat Cat exposures to regulators is preferred but not essential.
