About the Role

The Future Talent Program offers Cooperative (Co-op) education opportunities lasting up to 6 months, including project work within the Research and Development division. This program provides development and a chance to assess long-term career fit.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in molecular modeling and/or cheminformatics research, either in an independent project or as part of a drug discovery team.
  • Employ data, models, and methods to drive hypothesis-driven drug discovery.
  • Gain exposure to various research areas relevant to the drug discovery and development process.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a BS/BA or Master’s/Ph.D. degree in a related field with demonstrated interest/experience in research areas relevant to the drug discovery process.
  • Must have a strong academic background in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, informatics, computer science, or applied mathematics.
  • Must have completed at least two years of studies toward a BS/BA degree or at least 1 year towards a Master’s/PhD by the position start date.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an academic program at the time of application and continue education for at least 1 semester after the position ends.
  • Must be available for full-time employment for 4 to 6 months during 2027.
  • Must be prepared to submit letters of recommendation, a brief research statement, and a copy of their transcript if selected for an interview.
  • Must select a location when applying if multiple locations are listed.

Skills

  • Cheminformatics approaches (e.g., chemigenomic data analysis, chemical reaction modeling, chemical databases or data management)
  • Molecular modeling approaches (e.g., docking, molecular dynamics, protein design, small molecule design, peptide design, quantum chemical calculations, machine learning)
  • Programming skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
