About the Role

LISC is a leading community development organization focused on creating vibrant and resilient communities across America. This role involves conducting lending and technical assistance for affordable housing, commercial enterprises, and community facilities in New York City and State, aiming to improve health, economic development, financial well-being, and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

Lead the Community Capital Investments team in structuring, negotiating, and originating affordable housing and economic development transactions.
Drive the deployment of LISC capital and technical assistance resources to support community development initiatives.
Support senior leadership in identifying, cultivating, and pursuing strategic partnerships and funding opportunities.
Manage key relationships with public and private sector partners, working closely with City and State government.
Co-lead the development, management, and tracking of the investment pipeline, providing guidance on underwriting practices.
Underwrite transactions requiring various LISC financing products and tax credit financing.
Present loan recommendations to LISC’s credit committee and perform credit analysis.
Work in cross-functional teams to structure and close transactions with diverse stakeholders.
Provide technical assistance to partners on economic development related real estate projects.
Prepare reports and findings for investors, funders, and other stakeholders.
Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in lending, finance, community development, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in real estate development, particularly underwriting, deal structuring, and financial analysis.
Familiarity with the New York City and New York State markets.
Familiarity with city, state, and federal government financing programs, including bond and tax credit financing.
Knowledge of financing products such as predevelopment, acquisition, construction, bridge and permanent loans; lines of credit; and tax credit.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex transactions and coordinate with multiple internal and external parties.
Commitment to the community development sector and the critical role of nonprofit organizations.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and organizations.
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects.
Excellent writing, financial analysis, and verbal communication skills.
