About the Role
Venn is seeking its first dedicated in-house SEO/AEO hire to own organic search end-to-end, build strategy from the ground up, and become the central point of ownership for technical execution, content direction, AI search optimization, and the link between organic performance and revenue. This is a senior, largely self-directed role reporting into marketing but collaborating closely with sales and the BDR team.
Responsibilities
- Own technical SEO fixes directly in WordPress, including indexing, crawlability, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and schema.
- Run technical audits and lead migrations, redesigns, or international SEO work.
- Build Venn's SEO and AEO strategy from scratch, including keyword architecture, content priorities, and a roadmap tied to pipeline.
- Track performance in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other AI-driven search surfaces, and adjust content, crawlability, and structured data to earn citations.
- Partner with the BDR team and sales to translate customer feedback into keyword targets, content angles, and page-level messaging.
- Own and manage Venn's SEO tool stack (Ahrefs or Semrush, GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog).
- Report on organic performance in terms of pipeline influence.
Requirements
- 4-5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, in-house, agency, or both.
- Accountable for results, not just recommendations.
- Real, hands-on WordPress experience.
- Strong technical SEO grounding in crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and site architecture.
- Genuine curiosity about AI search and AEO, with a point of view on its future.
- Comfort owning a function end-to-end with a self-directed way of working.
- Confidence working cross-functionally with sales and BDRs.
- Comfort digging through customer calls for insight.
- Clear communication skills, able to translate SEO logic into business terms.
