About the Role

As a Data Science Manager for Financial Crime, you will lead a key product area, collaborating with Product, Risk, and Engineering peers. You will champion the data strategy, lead a cross-functional team, and drive improvements in financial crime detection, prevention, and mitigation. This role requires hands-on experience and a data-driven strategic approach to inspire the team and enhance customer solutions.

Responsibilities

Champion the use of data and bring ideas to life through rigorous analytical approaches.
Improve financial crime detection, prevention, and mitigation efforts.
Stay ahead of emerging threats and regulatory requirements.
Help the team grow by hiring new members and supporting their personal development.
Manage a team of Data Scientists and Data Analysts, working with Analytics Engineers.
Drive product innovation and see the impact of work in product changes.
Be a key leader in building a discipline of exceptional data scientists and analysts.
Help hire, develop, and retain talented Data people.
Generate insights that can change the direction of financial crime strategy.
Bring data leadership and rigor to product development.
Build a strategic understanding of the business and structure complex projects.
Liaise with risk, product, and engineering managers to ensure the collection of relevant data for business insights.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience as a Data Science Manager.
At least 2 years of experience managing a data team larger than 4 people.
Strong strategic data leadership experience.
Experience working with executive or C-level peers.
Experience managing stakeholders across different levels of seniority and disciplines.
Experience managing top-tier Data talent.
Familiarity with using a variety of Data Science tools (business intelligence, experimentation, causal inference, machine learning).
Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and SQL.
Experience in financial crime, fraud detection, or similar areas (Trust & Safety, Integrity, Security) is a plus.
