About the Role
Join Smith + Andersen as a Project Manager and take meaningful ownership of projects from design through construction. You will lead projects end-to-end, balancing scope, schedule, and budget while working closely with clients and project teams to guide each phase effectively. Applying sound professional judgement, you will manage risk and navigate complex challenges while building strong client relationships. Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, coordinating consultants, vendors, and procurement to achieve scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to support client meetings and address project issues.
- Manage project budgets and fees by tracking labour against scope, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance and escalate risks as required.
- Lead and manage project teams by confirming appropriate staffing, setting expectations, and driving performance.
- Provide technical and project direction based on client and stakeholder input.
- Ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of project deliverables.
- Lead construction-phase activities, including site reviews and issue resolution, ensuring alignment with contract documents, design intent, and project objectives.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination by planning and facilitating meetings that align internal teams, resolving cross-discipline scope gaps, and supporting an integrated design.
- Ensure deliverables are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support quality review processes prior to submission.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Present recommendations and communicate technical information clearly to support informed decision-making.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining scope, schedule, and budget.
- Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, and optimize engineering solutions.
- Sound judgment in problem solving, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Understanding of engineering practice operations and commercial considerations.
- Ability to mentor and support team members while fostering continuous improvement.

Salary/Compensations
- $90,000 - $125,000
