About the Role
This position provides leadership and support for the daily work processes of assigned production lines, ensuring adherence to company policies, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions. The role focuses on supporting production schedule adherence and maintaining quality and safety within the production lines.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily operator duties on Mandrel extrusion production lines and other production lines as needed.
- Provide daily/weekly production schedules to assigned production lines with direction from management.
- Ensure all production orders are completed on time.
- Inform management of risks to the schedule and offer proactive resolutions.
- Ensure all product quality specifications are consistently met.
- Ensure manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and controlled documents are followed.
- Provide or propose procedural updates.
- Ensure the DPR is accurate and legible for each work order.
- Provide proactive input for quality and productivity improvements.
- Act in a lead capacity for Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives.
- Supervise new work cells as necessary for Lean initiative compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on mandrel extrusion product lines.
- Maintain personal training record and oversee training compliance for direct reports.
- Ensure accurate computer transactions for material movements and production hours.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment (6S).
- Provide input to performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
- Resolve and disposition nonconformance (MRR) as assigned.
- Communicate with and assist management on material, equipment, maintenance, quality, and engineering needs.
- Promote a positive working environment and lead by example.
- Perform other activities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Adaptability to changing needs and flexibility to meet production demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of processes and procedures within an extrusion manufacturing production environment.
- Basic mathematical acumen.
- Continual lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Gripping, finger dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand and walk during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to wear eye protection for 8 hours.
- Good vision with the ability to distinguish colors.
