About the Role
We are looking for a Product Designer to help bring our next phase of growth to life. This role involves tackling complex UX challenges for users who are not at a desk, where clarity under pressure is critical for protecting people and assets.
Responsibilities
- Lead UX/UI for your team, from early concept through shipped feature.
- Collaborate with PM and engineering to define success and scope.
- Conduct discovery calls, user research, and usability tests directly with customers.
- Write clear, thoughtful copy across the product.
- QA and test releases to ensure accountability for shipped features.
- Utilize AI to explore design directions and build functioning prototypes.
- Define 'ready for engineering' standards and design comprehensive workflows accounting for edge cases.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library tied to the front-end.
- Develop a strong, defensible point of view on platform direction and present proposals.
- Ensure coherence across the entire platform for an integrated user experience.
- Help shape Perry Weather’s design voice in-product and across customer-facing touchpoints.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS.
- Proven ability to design complex, data-heavy workflows for non-desktop users in real operating conditions.
- Mastery of Figma, including components, tokens, and auto layout.
- Proficiency in moving past Figma to prototypes when they answer questions faster.
- Fluency with AI tools as a core part of the design process.
- Experience building and operationalizing design systems tied to front-end frameworks (React, MUI, or similar).
- Deep product thinking that blurs the line between PM and Engineering roles.
- Fluency in UX research methods and comfort talking to customers directly.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with instincts for edge cases and accessibility.
- Strong writing and communication skills, valuing copy as much as visuals.
- Comfortable owning multiple projects in a fast-moving environment with minimal oversight.
