About the Role
A Custodian is primarily responsible for cleaning the facility and grounds to promote a healthy and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs all types of cleaning throughout the building.
- Cleans, disinfects and restores bathrooms.
- Buffs and mops floors, sweeps, dusts, mops, cleans glass and vacuums floors.
- Uses various floor care machines.
- Stocks bathrooms and cafeterias with appropriate supplies.
- Removes garbage and cardboard.
- Removes soiled scrubs/uniforms from locker room laundry bins and transports them to holding bins.
- Stocks locker room areas with clean scrubs.
- Prepares and uses various types of cleaning agents.
- Performs miscellaneous outdoor cleaning chores, such as grounds keeping and snow removal.
- Performs any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, and protective gloves.
- Ability to transport 55-gallon drums through the facility.
- Ability to work with outside contractors.
- Ability to work independently.
