About the Role

The 14th Berlin Biennale is offering a study-related internship in the artistic office for the periods January 15 – April 14, 2027, and April 15 – July 14, 2027. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about the processes involved in conceptualizing, planning, and realizing an international exhibition and to gain experience in contemporary art from an institutional perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the preparation and realization of artist projects
  • Processing and managing artist materials and various archives
  • Various research for the preparation of the upcoming edition, as well as exhibition mediation and communication (on artists, exhibition venues, and thematic focuses)
  • Support in compiling materials and preparing the accompanying publication
  • Support in compiling materials for funding applications to international funding institutions
  • Support in cross-team collaboration between different departments
  • Support in appointment and travel coordination (artist travel and general appointments of the artistic office)
  • Support in daily office management and international office correspondence

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled throughout the entire internship period
  • Good computer skills (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace)
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
  • Organizational talent, independence, teamwork, and communication skills
