About the Role
As an Internal Accountant, you will be the backbone of our daily financial processes, responsible for ongoing bookkeeping, ensuring clean and timely payment runs, and serving as the primary contact for our external tax advisors. You will collaborate closely with our Finance Controller, Revenue Operations team, and Head of Finance, significantly contributing to our growing team's solid financial foundation.
Responsibilities
- Manage ongoing financial accounting (accounts payable and receivable) and ensure clean, audit-proof filing of all documents.
- Review incoming invoices, prepare payment runs, and release them via our tool Moss to ensure timely financial operations.
- Support with outgoing invoices and open receivables using our systems (Younium, Easybill, HubSpot) and coordinate with Revenue Operations.
- Handle credit card management and reconciliation for the entire team.
- Prepare month-end closing and collaborate closely with our tax advisor.
- Assist in maintaining our cash calendar and provide reliable figures for liquidity planning and forecasts to the Finance Controller.
- Create ad-hoc analyses and specific reports for the Head of Finance, Finance Controller, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize AI tools (e.g., Claude) to automate recurring accounting processes.
Requirements
- Practical experience in accounting or finance operations, ideally in the SaaS or tech environment.
- Completed commercial apprenticeship (e.g., tax assistant, balance sheet accountant) or a comparable degree with a focus on Finance/Accounting.
- Sound knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and ideally initial exposure to SaaS-specific topics like recurring revenues (ARR) or subscription billing.
- Precise, structured work style with the ability to maintain an overview even with high document volumes and recurring tasks.
- Clear, friendly, and solution-oriented communication, including with external tax advisors and clients.
- Proficiency with common accounting and invoicing tools (e.g., Moss, DATEV, Younium, Easybill, HubSpot, or similar).
- Reliability, enjoyment of independent work, and taking ownership of your area.
- German language skills at C2 level.
- Good English language skills, as our internal working language is English.
