About the Role
As a Unified Communications Engineer at BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, you will be responsible for operating and developing the company's telecommunications solutions, actively shaping the future of our modern communication landscape, particularly in the areas of Microsoft Teams telephony, mobile communications, and unified communications.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the operation and further development of BEW's telecommunications solutions and actively shape the future of our modern communication landscape, especially in the area of Microsoft Teams telephony, mobile communications, and unified communications.
- You work closely with external service providers, providers, and manufacturer partners to ensure high service quality.
- You advise specialist departments on the implementation of their requirements, understand their needs, and develop suitable, future-proof telecommunications solutions.
- You plan and manage telecommunications projects from the initial idea to successful implementation, contributing your own ideas and suggestions for improvement.
- You coordinate incidents, changes, and service requests in close cooperation with internal and external partners.
- You make an important contribution to information security and compliance and ensure traceable technical documentation.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, communications engineering, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience is required.
- Experience in operating telecommunications and unified communications solutions or the willingness to familiarize yourself with new technologies and subject areas is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams telephony, SIP, VoIP, or telecommunications infrastructures.
- Experience in collaborating with service providers and providers is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of networks and IT security.
- Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working.
- Enjoyment of collaboration with various specialist departments, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Very good German and good English language skills are required.
- Direct Routing or mobile device management.
- Knowledge in the area of contact centers, DECT, or alerting solutions.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate, ITIL Foundation, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP are an advantage.
