About the Role
This role leads Dyson's largest direct eCommerce market globally, with P&L ownership and a focus on shaping the future of AI-powered commerce. It combines commercial leadership, digital transformation, platform strategy, and organizational design within a premium technology brand. The position is based in our New York SOHO office, requiring a 5-day in-office presence.
Responsibilities
- Own market strategy, commercial performance, merchandising experience, platform direction, and AI-driven transformation for US Direct eCommerce.
- Set the vision for US Direct eCommerce across existing and new channels, translating long-term strategy and priorities.
- Inspire and lead Direct eCommerce teams and partner functions to achieve shared goals.
- Galvanize the organization behind strategic plans to capitalize on direct opportunities, grow market share, and protect the Dyson brand.
- Own commercial performance, customer experience, roadmap execution, and cross-functional leadership.
- Develop comprehensive business plans (commercial, financial, operational, people) and ensure adequate resourcing for sales volumes.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability by delivering sales outcomes, transparently communicating variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Protect the integrity of the sales plan and calendar, ensuring site stability for key commercial moments.
- Lead Dyson US's AI-driven growth agenda, including personalization, merchandising automation, demand forecasting, and customer experience innovation.
- Drive conversion rate optimization and continuous consumer-journey improvement through data-driven site merchandising and traffic channel management.
- Champion AI adoption as a core capability, identifying, testing, and scaling tools for growth and efficiency.
- Define US requirements for Dyson's eCommerce re-platform, prioritizing the largest direct market's needs.
- Influence Dyson's global digital roadmap by advocating for US priorities and sharing market insights.
- Partner and influence across departments including Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance.
- Balance disciplined execution with agility to respond to market dynamics.
- Support marketplace managers in building strong partnerships.
- Uphold high standards for consumer journeys through Dyson guidelines, assets, and local relevance.
- Build and evolve the team and capabilities for future direct business success.
- Accelerate digital transformation and operational excellence in areas like AI, optimization, analytics, personalization, and customer lifetime value.
- Run continuous A/B testing and roll out new features with a consumer-first mindset.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement and model a growth mindset.
Requirements
- 10+ years of strong eCommerce and digital marketing experience with proven sales results for a premium brand.
- Full P&L acumen and ownership, including budget management and financial expertise.
- Experience leading in an eCommerce environment across branded sites and third-party platforms; DTC marketplace experience is a strong plus.
- Data-driven approach to site merchandising and consumer-journey optimization, with a track record in conversion rate optimization.
- Fluency in applying AI, personalization, and automation to drive commercial and CX outcomes.
- Strong command of the digital media landscape, its mechanics and levers, and CRM/email/database acquisition strategies.
- Deep understanding of customer experience, behavior, market dynamics, and complexity.
- Credible thought leadership across eCommerce infrastructure including logistics, warehousing, IT platforms, and media strategy.
- Demonstrated strategic and business-planning capability in complex, matrixed, and entrepreneurial environments.
- Excellent influencing skills to inspire, align, and engage multiple teams without direct authority.
- Strong leadership ability to develop vision, secure buy-in, and drive collaborative execution.
- Comfortable with both strategy and hands-on delivery, and with ambiguity while building structure.
- Energized by thinking differently, delivering change, and diplomatically challenging the norm.
- Proactive self-starter with an owner's mindset, seeing tasks through to completion with integrity.
- Must adhere to a 5-day office attendance schedule.
- Must travel occasionally.
