About the Role
Own quality across internal platforms and client-facing products, building automation, tooling, and AI-assisted workflows to ensure efficient coverage.
Responsibilities
- Own the test strategy for internal engineering platforms and client-facing products, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression suites.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, data-layer) that are fast, deterministic, and trusted.
- Utilize LLM-assisted tooling to accelerate test authoring, generate edge cases, triage failures, and summarize regressions.
- Build and tune quality gates in CI/CD to prevent broken builds from reaching clients and minimize feedback loop times.
- Identify and automate manual QA processes, including release checklists, environment setup, test data generation, smoke verification, and reporting.
- Reproduce, isolate, and file defects with clear steps, expected/actual behavior, and sufficient context for resolution.
- Partner with security engineers to integrate security regression checks into the standard pipeline.
- Conduct performance, load, and reliability testing against services handling sensitive data.
- Define and report key quality metrics such as escaped defect rate, flake rate, critical path coverage, and time to detection.
- Contribute to release readiness decisions and provide informed input on shipping decisions.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years in QA engineering, SDET, or test automation, with a demonstrated shift from manual execution toward automated coverage.
- Strong programming ability in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, pytest).
- Practical API testing experience, including contract, integration, and negative-path testing against REST or GraphQL services.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and comfort owning pipeline configuration.
- Daily, deliberate use of AI coding assistants and LLM tooling in workflow.
- Comfort with Git, containerized local environments, and reading application code.
- Excellent written communication skills for a distributed, asynchronous team.
- High autonomy and strong self-direction in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to learn the technical aspects of blockchain, smart contracts, and cybersecurity.
