About the Role
We are recruiting for a Senior Delivery Manager on a permanent basis. You will be an outcome-focused individual, passionate about delivering user-centered digital services in the public sector and supporting junior and mid-level Delivery Managers in their career progression. You will share feedback, have a desire to learn and improve, and possess experience working in a public sector environment with knowledge of standards like the Service Standard. Your time will be divided between hands-on project delivery, supporting recruitment, line management, sales/pre-sales support, and stakeholder engagement for Statements of Work.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary client contact for the project team, liaising credibly and influentially with clients.
- Support clients' Product Owners/Managers and apply strategic thinking to achieve optimal outcomes and manage stakeholder buy-in.
- Facilitate agile delivery and transformation on client projects, acting as a servant-leader for multidisciplinary teams.
- Assist teams in planning work, removing blockers, and reporting progress.
- Manage and communicate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Upskill clients in agile methodologies.
- Support the management of project budgets and budget burn-down.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with the Statement of Work and escalate internal risks and issues to Methods Digital management.
- Help create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive team environment.
- Coach junior team members in Agile and Lean practices.
- Contribute to the wider cross-Methods delivery management community of practice.
- Provide line management for junior team members, assisting them with client work issues.
- Champion user needs and accessibility.
- Understand and coach others on the GDS Service Manual and Service Standard.
- Advocate for iterative service design and development using agile methodologies.
Requirements
- Experience working in a public sector environment.
- Working knowledge of public sector standards and principles, such as the Service Standard.
- Experience in using agile methodologies.
