About the Role
Lead the development, certification, and delivery of a project-focused Quality Management System (QMS) for a major capital program, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 10005. This role embeds quality assurance across EPC contractors, international suppliers, and third-party inspection bodies to meet contractual, regulatory, and notified body standards.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and maintain ISO 9001 certification for project quality systems.
- Establish a lifecycle-based Project Quality Management System (PrMO) and Quality Management Plans.
- Lead a risk-based audit program across internal teams, EPC contractors, and suppliers.
- Act as lead internal auditor and quality authority for clients, regulators, and certification bodies.
- Manage non-conformance processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Oversee inspection, NDT, and dimensional compliance across global supply chains and module yards.
- Assure the suitability of third-party inspectors and notified bodies, including PED requirements.
- Drive quality performance, reporting, and continuous improvement across EPC delivery.
- Contribute to supplier development, lessons learned, and cost-of-poor-quality reduction using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
Requirements
- Experienced quality leader with involvement in large-scale, high-value projects, ideally in energy, oil & gas, hydrogen, or other regulated industries.
- Proven ability to build and implement ISO-aligned quality systems in complex, multi-contractor environments.
- Strong oversight of both project delivery and supply chain quality.
- Expertise in ISO 9001 implementation and auditing.
- Strong understanding of EPC quality deliverables, including ITPs, inspections, and documentation control.
- Experience managing supplier quality and third-party inspections across international supply chains.
- Track record of delivering audit programs and regulatory engagement.
- Advanced capability in non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and relevant notified body requirements (e.g., PED).
- Ability to translate quality standards into practical, adoptable project systems.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and delivery levels, engaging senior stakeholders while ensuring rigorous quality execution across projects.
