About the Role
Deliver effective interpretation of GPS data for coaches, contributing to player durability, injury resilience, and physicality to support transition to the Women's First Team. Develop ideas to enhance player athleticism within the Academy and provide guidance on maturational status.
Responsibilities
- Leverage data for positive impact by bridging the physical gap to the Women's First Team through data collection and interpretation.
- Inform and adapt training sessions in line with the Women's Academy game model.
- Lead and oversee daily GPS management, including live data feedback and plotting future targets.
- Support and develop age-specific, comprehensive Academy fitness profiling in line with FA requirements.
- Understand player maturational status and provide support throughout growth stages.
- Implement an individual development approach with regular reviews to develop athletes and the team.
- Attend reviews and contribute to reports with key stakeholders to develop the Women's Academy programme.
- Assist Academy colleagues in understanding athlete robustness and resilience through physical guidance of sessions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize squad performance throughout the season.
- Demonstrate desire to develop the provision within the programme through education and learning strategies.
- Support the development of talent ID profiles for age and position-appropriate information to inform decision-making.
Requirements
- History of working with elite athletes domestically and internationally.
- Hold a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Sports Science or Strength and Conditioning.
- Hold an FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
- Track record of operating within a multidisciplinary performance team.
- Experience providing strength and conditioning, sports science, or physiotherapy services to elite players.
- Knowledge of the FA Girls' Talent Pathway and WSL Academy structure.
- Confident in using and interpreting GPS data, ideally in a football or sport context.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build meaningful, impactful strategic relationships.
- Excellent session planning and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work weekends and be flexible to schedule needs.
- Ability to travel independently.
- Uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse in a position of trust.
- Keep updated with Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.
- Complete an enhanced DBS check and other essential background checks.
