About the Role
As a Rolling Stock Acceptance Engineer, you will ensure our long-term fleet strategy is secured by taking over high-quality vehicles, from factory and plant acceptance to contractual handover to operations. You will lay the foundation for a new, Europe-wide travel experience and sustainably shape how people travel with high-quality new vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Support project phases from factory and plant acceptance (FAT/SAT) through contractual acceptance to handover to operating personnel.
- Accompany static and dynamic commissioning of new vehicles for use throughout Europe and monitor their transfer from the factory abroad to acceptance locations in Germany.
- Create the concept for vehicle acceptances, coordinate it with relevant stakeholders, and arrange acceptance drives with manufacturers, infrastructure operators, and authorities.
- Organize the handover of vehicles to fleet operations, including complete technical documentation and training materials.
- Provide expert assessment of contract documents, change requests, and manufacturer offers in the areas of testing, commissioning, and acceptance.
- Represent FlixTrain's interests in technical meetings, status reviews, and, if necessary, during official approval processes in close cooperation with project management, quality assurance, operations, and maintenance, as well as external partners.
- Create and track punch lists, coordinate corrections with manufacturers and suppliers, analyze error patterns, and derive preventive measures for ongoing and future deliveries.
Requirements
- Very good knowledge of rail vehicle technology and a sound understanding of the overall railway system.
- Several years of experience in testing, commissioning, and acceptance of railway vehicles.
- Excellent German language skills.
- Confident English language skills.
- Organizational skills, assertiveness, and strong technical and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and conscientiously.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Germany and to other European countries, primarily to commissioning workshops and on trains.
