Responsibilities

Work on systems and datasets behind quantitative research and trading.
Collaborate with traders, researchers, and engineers on data acquisition, engineering, and platform design.
Source and evaluate new datasets based on trading desk priorities.
Explore how new data can support research.
Manage sourcing projects from acquisition through to design.
Work with Data Engineers to bring useful datasets into production at scale.
Design and implement data stores and APIs.
Monitor data processes and build production-ready datasets.
Build and maintain infrastructure for data ingestion, processing, and serving.
Work on real-time and batch workflows with a focus on reliability, latency, and efficient data handling.

Requirements

A good grounding in computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, parallel programming, and object-oriented programming.
Experience with Python and an interest in using software to solve data or infrastructure problems.
An interest in software engineering, infrastructure, or data engineering, particularly where performance and reliability are critical.
Curiosity about high-performance, real-time systems and a desire to understand how they support trading.
A rigorous, structured approach to analyzing unfamiliar problems and developing practical solutions.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with researchers, traders, and engineers.
Self-motivation and a desire to develop autonomy while learning.
