About the Role

This position is expected to translate market and customer requirements into software requirements and architecture, and to realize scalable and reusable embedded software in collaboration with global development teams. This is not just an implementation role.

Responsibilities

Create and review embedded software requirement definitions, PRDs, architectures, and design documents for Renesas MCUs.
Understand product planning, marketing, and customer requirements to concretize software requirements and implementable technical specifications.
Design, develop, and technically lead BSPs, device drivers, RTOS integration, network/connectivity middleware, OTA/FOTA, and sample applications.
Manage traceability between market & customer requirements, software architecture design, implementation, testing, and release deliverables using tools like Jira.
Lead technical discussions with domestic and international software development teams, partners, and customers to grasp technical requirements and resolve technical issues.
Conduct design reviews and make technical judgments considering implementation quality, scalability, reusability, and maintainability.
Promote development efficiency and quality improvement through CI/CD, test automation, and development process standardization.
Improve software and development experience to be user-friendly for developers and customers.
Promote the adoption of development methods, technologies, designs, and architectures aligned with business units among internal and external teams.

Requirements

Embedded software development experience using C language.
Development experience in one of the following: BSP, device driver, RTOS, middleware, or communication stack for MCU/SoC.
Practical experience in software requirement definition, specification design, architecture design, and design review.
Experience in defect analysis, cause identification, countermeasure planning, and quality improvement.
Communication skills to organize technical issues and reach consensus with domestic and international stakeholders.
Practical experience in technical documentation, progress management, issue management, and release.
Ability to autonomously learn new technology areas and apply them to product development.
