About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers in hardware product development, guided by a mentor. You will gain exposure to various aspects of mechanical design within the product development cycle, including conceptual design, prototyping, development, testing, product packaging design, and manufacturing production.

Responsibilities

  • Learn professional techniques and perform tasks in mechanical design and analysis, heat transfer, shock and vibration effects on product packaging, or verification and validation of products.
  • Work and interact with NI staff in R&D hardware and software organizations.
  • Perform research as required to complete projects.
  • Diagnose and debug technical challenges.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar STEM related field.
  • Sophomore or above standing.
  • Knowledge of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes such as heat transfer, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and electromechanical design.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
