About the Role
Our Internship Program provides final year university students with the opportunity to gain meaningful paid work experience while completing their studies. The program runs from 30 November 2026 to 12 February 2027 and offers exposure to real projects, professional development opportunities, and the chance to work alongside experienced professionals across Sydney Water. Potential extension for additional 12 months for high performing interns (2-3 days per week during university).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to meaningful projects that support Sydney Water's customers, communities, and environment.
- Bring fresh ideas, innovative thinking, and new perspectives to the business.
- Work collaboratively with experienced professionals across a range of disciplines.
- Develop technical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional environment.
- Build relationships and network with leaders and teams across the organisation.
- Participate in Sydney Water's Emerging Talent Program.
- Support business outcomes while gaining practical experience relevant to your field of study.
Requirements
- Current enrolment as a final year university student
- Completing your course in 2027
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency at the time of application
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A solid academic record
- A willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative team environment
- Curiosity, innovation, and a proactive approach to new challenges
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- A passion for creating better outcomes for customers, communities, and the environment
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application.
- Undergo background checks, including employment reference checks and a criminal history check.
