About the Role
This Pediatrician will plan and carry out medical care for children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development. This is an outpatient/ambulatory Pediatric Primary Care position.
Responsibilities
- Provide health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment.
- Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate and standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary.
- Evaluates procedure results.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient's plan of care.
- Provides patient education about underlying medical conditions, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailors instructions to patients' individual circumstances.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Consults with appropriate specialists as may be necessary in the management of complex clinical cases.
- Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration.
- Administers medication/immunizations, suturing, managing wounds and infections, etc.
- Documents exam and progress notes.
- Provides referral letters as needed.
- Performs other tests and procedures as needed.
- Collects, monitors and reports on patient outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
- Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric.
- Possess a valid New York State medical license and DEA.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Team work oriented provider.
- NYS licensed.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of children’s diseases and epidemiology.
- Knowledge of established examination procedures for infants.
- Patience and caring demeanor.
- Ability to foster long term trust relationships with children and their parents.
