About the Role
Work alongside claims professionals to provide clinical guidance on psychological injury claims, supporting effective treatment planning and improving recovery outcomes. This role is ideal for a registered psychologist seeking to utilize their clinical experience in an advisory capacity while maintaining strong engagement with treating clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical guidance on psychological injury claims to support effective treatment planning and improve recovery outcomes.
- Review diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Support clinical decision-making.
- Contribute to improved recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Deliver clinical education and capability uplift initiatives.
- Influence best-practice approaches across psychological injury management.
- Engage with GPs and treatment providers to optimize diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery outcomes.
- Complete file reviews to provide expert psychological opinion on treatment efficacy and injury recovery.
- Identify the need for additional medical opinion and services.
- Deliver training, coaching, and education to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification and professional background in psychology, mental health, or related discipline.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Clinical experience treating psychological and mental health issues.
- Strong understanding of disability, injury management, and recovery principles.
- Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience working in the personal injury industry preferred.
- Experience with workers compensation insurance and legislation desirable.
- Ability to engage respectfully and confidently with clinicians, treatment providers, and other claims stakeholders.
- Ability to have constructive conversations about treatment direction and recovery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
