About the Role

The Construction Manager will oversee the day-to-day planning, coordination, and delivery of construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, programme, and commercial expectations are met. This role acts as the key on-site control point, managing project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure works are planned, risks are identified, and necessary resources and approvals are in place for successful delivery. The Construction Manager will provide leadership from mobilization through handover and close-out, actively managing progress and escalating issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring robust Health and Safety systems and procedures are adopted and adhered to for site activities.
  • Driving productivity through the management and control of installation norms.
  • Implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Liaising with design and commissioning teams to ensure construction methods consider these tasks.
  • Engaging with project teams, quality team, and planners to identify robust construction plans.
  • Continually reviewing site teams for progress, abilities, and quality of supervision.
  • Understanding trade agreements, allowances, expenses, bonus, and lodging for hourly paid labor.
  • Determining labor requirements for efficient project delivery.
  • Ensuring a robust and fully skilled workforce.
  • Resource loading activities to control costs and hours.
  • Overseeing look-ahead schedules to manage workload and resources.

Requirements

  • Confident in workface planning, productivity control, and programme alignment.
  • Ability to maintain schedule under pressure and constraint.
  • Competence in rolling out management systems, embedding standard processes, training site teams, and running assurance checks.
  • Evidence of IMS delivery.
  • Strong understanding of national agreements (NAECI, BESA) and IR relations with trade unions.
  • Digital field management experience (Dalux or equivalent).
  • Comfort with evidence-based reporting and data discipline.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and component traceability.
