Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a globally consistent yet locally responsive benefits strategy aligned with Geotab's Total Rewards philosophy and employee value proposition.
  • Lead annual benefits planning including plan design reviews, renewal negotiations, benchmarking, and cost modeling across all regions.
  • Oversee benefits program administration across all active Geotab geographies including Canada, the US, UAE/Dubai, EMEA, and LATAM.
  • Ensure programs reflect local statutory requirements, market norms, and cultural expectations in each region.
  • Partner with in-country HR and legal counsel to maintain compliance with local benefit regulations and reporting obligations.
  • Lead benefits due diligence and integration workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Assess acquired entity benefit programs, identify harmonization opportunities and risks, and develop integration plans balancing employee experience with cost and compliance considerations.
  • Champion the use of AI tools and data analytics to improve benefits program effectiveness, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered benefits platforms, decision-support tools, and personalization capabilities.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast utilization trends, model costs, and support strategic planning.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), ticketing protocols, and workflow routing to systematize benefits inquiry management and reduce ad-hoc demand on the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in how the benefits function operates, freeing team capacity for strategic and value-added work.
  • Manage relationships with global benefits brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and technology vendors.
  • Lead RFP processes, contract negotiations, and performance reviews.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of benefits specialists and administrators across regions.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and build team capability.
  • Design and execute benefits communication strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and informed decision-making across a global, multilingual workforce.
  • Ensure all benefit programs comply with applicable legislation across jurisdictions.
  • Oversee regulatory filings, audits, and plan documentation.
  • Define and track KPIs for global benefits programs.
  • Produce executive-level reporting and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of overall benefits management experience, including at least 5 years in a global capacity.
  • Proven expertise in negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Proven expertise in delivering executive-level reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Proven expertise in managing compliance with international data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PIPEDA.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience, including direct supervision of benefits specialists or administrators.
  • 2–3 years of experience leading in a matrixed or global HR environment.
  • Ability to develop and execute a multi-year global benefits strategy aligned with business priorities, workforce trends, and the competitive talent landscape.
  • Deep knowledge of benefits program design and administration across multiple geographies, with particular expertise in North America, EMEA (including Dubai, UAE), and LATAM markets.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting benefits due diligence and leading benefits integration during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Practical experience or confidence leveraging AI-enabled HR technology, benefits platforms, and analytics tools to improve program design and administration.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of benefits professionals.
  • Strong ability to model benefit costs, analyze utilization data, evaluate vendor proposals, and produce financial summaries for senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex benefits information for diverse audiences from frontline employees to the executive team.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects including open enrollment, plan transitions, M&A integrations, and technology implementations.
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-jurisdictional employment law, benefits regulation, and governance requirements.
