About the Role
The Band Member (Guitar) role contributes to the positive promotion of the NSWPF through community engagement by performing as a musician in the NSW Police Band and its various ensembles. This role attracts a 'Doubling' allowance for playing a second instrument as required, and the successful candidate will be expected to perform on percussion instruments and bass drum in certain settings with on-the-job training provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform as a musician in the NSW Police Band and its various ensembles.
- Perform on percussion instruments in some settings when the guitar is not required.
- Perform on bass drum in parade settings.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
- Must undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check.
- Must obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
- Must have the capacity to perform in a variety of settings including less than desirable outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand and march for prolonged periods in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a large and diverse musical team.
Skills

- Additional skills such as arranging, composing, recording/sound skills are highly desirable.
