About the Role

The Marketing Coordinator is a key member of the Cathedral’s fast-paced Marketing and Communications Department, supporting marketing and communications initiatives across campaigns, from social media and email marketing to community outreach and event promotion. This role is the day-to-day manager of the Cathedral’s email marketing and organic social media channels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the departmental project management system (Monday.com), ensuring clear timelines, task assignments, and progress tracking.
  • Organize and maintain the department’s shared file storage systems and folders.
  • Plan and execute email content calendars in collaboration with the Development team, VP of Marketing, and Marketing Manager.
  • Draft, format, test, and schedule email communications including newsletters, marketing, and fundraising emails.
  • Monitor email performance and implement best practices to increase engagement.
  • Manage organic social media publishing across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Maintain the social media content calendar to ensure a balanced mix of posts.
  • Track social media engagement metrics and support reporting processes.
  • Support community outreach initiatives by identifying and contacting partner organizations and distributing promotional materials.
  • Write and edit copy for digital campaigns, email newsletters, event promotions, social media, and internal materials.
  • Coordinate department-wide administrative needs such as supply orders and submitting monthly financials.
  • Support the creation of presentations and slide decks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
  • Two to three years experience in marketing or communications.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with social media management.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to perform prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending and stooping.
  • Ability to grasp, repetitively move hands, and use fine coordination for keyboard tasks.
  • Requires near and far vision for reading and preparing reports.
  • Requires acute hearing for phone assistance.
  • Ability to lift, drag, push and pull files, reports and other materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative, dependable, and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with social media and email platform management.
  • Experience with paid social: ability to support promoted posts, in-house ads, and social media boosts.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and interpreting performance results.
  • Prior experience using Monday.com is a plus.
