About the Role
ACS is seeking interns to work alongside engineers building precision robotic systems for defense applications. This is an early-career opportunity with real stakes, offering hands-on experience with impactful projects.
Responsibilities
- Work on mechanical systems for a turret designed for accurate tracking and firing under real-world conditions.
- Perform CAD design, tolerancing, and structural or thermal analysis for hardware that will be built and tested.
- Engage in prototyping and testing, seeing designs transition from CAD to the range.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and manufacturing teams to advance designs from concept to production-ready.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Possess CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar) from coursework, projects, or clubs (e.g., FSAE, robotics teams).
- Demonstrate an interest in precision mechanisms, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
- Exhibit a hands-on mindset and be comfortable working in a shop or lab environment.
