About the Role
Lansdowne Care Home provides residential, nursing, and dementia care. The role involves maintaining the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine weekly, monthly, and annual checks on building systems.
- Ensure external checks (e.g., Loler testing) are completed within the agreed timeframe.
- Monitor and respond to fire alarms, boilers, and lifts.
- Utilize resources efficiently for maintenance and repairs.
- Handle banking and purchase small items for the home.
- Maintain the building, grounds, and equipment, including decoration, repair, minor plumbing, and garden upkeep.
- Foster good communication and relationships with colleagues.
- Maintain awareness of home policies and procedures, particularly the Fire Policy.
- Participate in individual and team training and development.
- Assist in the induction of new staff by training them on building layout and fire safety.
- Uphold client and business confidentiality.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and delivery checks.
- Maintain awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
- Observe and maintain high levels of communication with staff and residents.
- Undertake additional duties and training as requested or deemed appropriate.
- Regularly review and agree on any changes to the job description.
