About the Role

Union College is seeking a Men's Hockey Operations Coordinator/Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach to assist the Head Coach in all phases of the men's ice hockey program. This role involves managing team logistics, video preparation, administrative tasks, coaching, recruiting, and student-athlete development within a Division I ECAC Hockey program at a highly selective liberal arts institution.

Responsibilities

Manage team travel and meals
Manage Video preparation for games and practice
Assists administrative assistant with office tasks and friends group projects
Coaching practices and games
Recruiting prospective student-athletes
Student-athlete development
Ensuring academic success of student-athletes
Practice and game planning, rules and compliance
Creating a team social media marketing plan
Liaison between Hockey staff and offices on campus
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Management, Physical Education or related degree and/or equivalent professional experience
Master's degree strongly preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time
Must possess or obtain a valid New York State drivers license
Evidence of at least two years successful ice hockey coaching experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to recruit quality student-athletes
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills
Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
Philosophy compatible with a liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards
Able to work successfully with a diverse group of individuals
Finalists for hire will undergo a background check that includes education, employment, and criminal convictions
