About the Role
We are looking for someone who likes active and hands-on work to join us as an Appliance Delivery Driver. This position reports to the Appliance Service Director and works at our warehouse operation in New Berlin. In this role, you’ll drive a daily route and work with team members to load/unload, deliver, and distribute appliances to single and multi-family residences. The Appliance Delivery Driver works a full-time, first-shift schedule, Monday to Friday. Training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Drive 26-foot box truck on scheduled local and regional routes with occasional unscheduled stops and changes.
- May drive other vehicles to deliver materials, such as company vans.
- Assist with loading trucks and vehicles.
- Deliver and unload appliances to job sites, completing placement and basic installation as directed.
- Ensure accurate delivery of appliances as noted on orders and work tickets.
- Communicate in a courteous manner with customers throughout the delivery.
- Troubleshoot any questions or concerns in a professional manner.
- Document or communicate the status of delivery, including changes, with the manager.
- May assist with picking and staging orders in the warehouse.
- May assist with warehouse maintenance, focusing on a clean and organized work area.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 6+ months delivery driving experience for wholesale or commercial customers.
- 6+ months customer service experience.
- Must have a valid driver license and meet minimum standards following a Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction and on a regular basis.
- Ability to read/write basic English correspondence and perform simple alphabetizing.
- Ability to order numbers and perform simple addition and subtraction.
