About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our preschool team, supporting the development and education of children ages 3 to 5 years within inclusive classrooms. You will work alongside a team of Special Education Teachers, Therapists, and Teacher Assistants to provide exceptional care and instruction, preparing children for kindergarten through language-based interactions.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care and instruction
- Support the development and education of preschool children, ages 3 to 5 years, within inclusive classrooms
- Teach developmentally appropriate academic and social skills
- Create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment
- Implement effective classroom management
- Set and reinforce classroom expectations and routines
- Prepare goals and instructional materials
- Coordinate curriculum implementation with the preschool team
- Communicate with team members, administrators, and parents regarding children’s development and behavior
Requirements
- A passion for offering the best care and education for local children and their families
- Expertise in delivering care for the educational, developmental, and social emotional growth of children
- A warm, engaging approach with a family-centered focus
- The drive to work hard, adapt to constant change, and be your best self
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to share feedback across teams in a collaborative and solution-oriented way
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Example: Elementary Education)
- An active NYS Teacher certification is preferred
