About the Role
Magrym Consulting is seeking a Civil PE to join our growing team. We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for advancement, a healthy work-life balance, and investment in professional development.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering work and project management for private and public sector clients.
- Manage site development, commercial development plans, subdivisions, and roadways using Civil 3D and other software.
- Oversee the overall engineering of projects, including plan preparation, permitting, and reports.
- Conduct design, QA/QC of junior staff contributions, site visits, and client/contractor meetings.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Maintain client contact and relationships.
- Design subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes, storm drainage calculations, utilities (storm and sanitary sewers), paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements.
- Complete design calculations and research code requirements.
- Verify design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes and manuals.
- Utilize CAD and various software applications.
- Seek technical information from peers when encountering problems outside of one's expertise.
- Prepare correspondence, technical specifications, and reports.
- Attend and participate in client and municipal meetings.
- Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others.
- Coordinate final design computations with review agencies.
- Prepare opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data for final payment.
- Manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- Work extended hours as required to meet client, project, and/or business demands.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience as a Civil Engineer.
- Must maintain a professional licensure in Texas.
- Knowledge of engineering and data analysis techniques and theories.
- Skill in the use of computers and computer-aided design equipment.
- Skill in the use and maintenance of scientific instruments.
- Must be looking to be part of a growing team.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to manage Junior Engineers and Drafters.
- Must show initiative to seek work.
- Must maintain great relationships with existing clients.
