About the Role

This unpaid internship offers hands-on, educational experience for students interested in collegiate athletics, providing exposure to the operations of a Division I athletic department at the United States Military Academy. Interns will gain meaningful exposure to the operations of a Division I athletic department supporting 30 varsity programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Deputy Athletics Director in conducting research to support on-going AWPAA projects.
  • Collaborate with staff to learn how operational plans are developed for athletics events.
  • Conduct guided reviews of peer university athletics websites to help identify best practices and concepts for enhancing information shared on www.goarmywestpoint.com.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a current college student or enrolled as a college student by September 2026 and provide proof of enrollment.
  • Strong interest in college athletics, sports, communications, marketing, ticketing and/or broadcasts industries.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a multi-task setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with online research.
  • Flexibility to observe and participate in learning experiences during evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude while assisting on a wide range of supervised projects.
