About the Role

The Senior Actuarial Analyst supports the pricing of RFPs across various lines of business, focusing on experience studies, assumption development, model development, and R&D. This role also involves supporting client initiatives, data analytics, and cross-functional projects with teams like Reserving, Operations, Underwriting, and Global Pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Actuarial Pricing Team to deliver quality and timely priced RFPs/quotes.
  • Develop actuarial models in AXIS or R, including necessary structures for business pricing.
  • Generate cashflow projections and provide analysis to Pricing Actuarial staff.
  • Research and develop bases, including incidence/mortality rates and trend assumptions.
  • Present and liaise with clients to facilitate front office activities and business development.
  • Ensure necessary information is provided to Assumption Review Committee and Business Review.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Actuarial staff to improve data modeling, inforce management, valuation numbers, and hand-off controls.
  • Continuously enhance processes and tools.
  • Assist on various business initiatives.
  • Prepare data documentation packages.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
  • Experience relevant to the Pricing function.
  • Completed 4+ SOA exams with steady progression towards ASA/FSA designation.
  • Knowledge of computer programming or analytical software.
  • Solid mathematical analysis skills with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in typically-used life insurance software (AXIS, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Preferable to have strong computer skills including R, Python, Azure DevOps.
  • French language is an asset.
  • Must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
