About the Role

The High School Learning Support Assistant fosters student accountability and growth by managing the scheduling and administration of assessments for students with specific accommodations. This role supports the High School team in providing clear expectations for students with missed deadlines and ensures a calm and productive learning environment. The position facilitates a growth-oriented environment in the Student Success Center, supporting executive function development.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, schedule, and supervise testing for students with specific accommodations, ensuring timely completion and adherence to accommodations.
  • Support the learning specialist in communicating accommodations to classroom teachers.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to support accountability for students with late work and missing assessments.
  • Use Blackbaud and Toddle to track missing work.
  • Support communication with students and families regarding late work and missed assessments.
  • Organize and supervise testing for students who have missed assessments, ensuring test security.
  • Provide instructions to substitute teachers and Saturday School supervisors regarding assessment procedures and student accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance in the Student Success Center, study hall, and Saturday School.
  • Assist in completing required documentation for accommodations on standardized testing.
  • Maintain functionality and security for Student Success Center devices, coordinating repairs with IT.
  • Maintain secure storage and record-keeping for loaner devices and chargers.
  • Ensure supervision in the HS Learning Commons after school hours.
  • Proctor standardized testing as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive and calm testing environment.
  • Interact with students using a growth and asset-based approach to support executive function skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • All prospective staff will be fingerprinted and submit a criminal background check.
  • Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
