About the Role

Lead a sales team to create an exceptional customer experience, driving market share and achieving targeted sales and profit margins.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales team in alignment with AutoNation's Vision and Mission.
  • Set clear vision and goals for the sales team to achieve targeted performance in new/used vehicle sales, financial services, and overall sales profit.
  • Engage and motivate the team to achieve key goals, performance expectations, and best practice processes.
  • Drive business through high-level involvement in daily operations.
  • Manage negotiation and financing processes with Sales Associates.
  • Lead the Used Vehicle Department, including inventory management, merchandising, pricing, and reconditioning.
  • Appraise vehicles for trade.
  • Manage customer traffic across showroom, e-commerce, and phone channels.
  • Partner with General Manager to plan and manage new and used vehicle inventory.
  • Assist in managing controllable expenses for New and Used Vehicle Departments.
  • Analyze business performance to identify shortfalls and develop action plans.
  • Select, train, coach, develop, and retain Sales Managers, Sales Associates, and Financial Services professionals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive retail management experience.
  • Proven leadership ability to recruit, select, train, coach, and develop a team.
  • Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
  • Ability to drive an exceptional Customer experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organization and follow-up skills.
  • Experience and desire to work with technology.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
