About the Role
PRG Scenic Technologies is seeking a qualified person to organize and prepare rental equipment for corporate and theatrical applications. This role is crucial for ensuring that all rental inventory is properly maintained, tested, and ready for client use, contributing to the seamless execution of live events.
Responsibilities
- Pull, prep, test, repair, and return all equipment associated with the Rental Department.
- Prepare all rental inventory both in and out of TEAM.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Accurately log inventory in and out.
- Process all paperwork neatly and without error.
- Identify all equipment and product by name and have a basic understanding of function.
- Work overtime and weekends when required.
- Work with a team mindset, as some tasks require two people.
- Load and unload all trucks with equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare equipment for shipping using proper wrapping or crating techniques.
- Move equipment throughout the shop or onto and off trucks and flatbeds using forklifts.
- Work for the Tool Room/Parts Room Supervisor when necessary.
- Navigate the TEAM system in the absence of the Rental Supervisor.
- Fill out purchase requisitions in Oracle.
- Operate all forklifts in a safe manner.
- Certify chain hoists.
- Solder cable connections.
- Set up or assist in setting up rental equipment for in-house testing or client demonstrations.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Correct subordinates from performing potentially hazardous actions.
Requirements
- Must have a personal toolbox with basic mechanics tools.
- Possess a basic tool list including: claw hammer, Philips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, large slotted screwdriver, ADJ wrench, Allen key set, wire strippers, diagonal pliers, feeler gauges, and a 30’ tape measure.
- Acquire specific tools within 1 year of employment: screw gun with battery charger, grinder, air ratchet, air drill, voltmeter, ratchet/socket set (metric and standard), and wrench set (metric and standard).
- Repair capabilities with a mechanical and electrical background.
- Be a mechanically inclined individual.
- Be computer literate.
- Ability to mig-weld steel is a plus.
- High School diploma required.
- Good communication skills required.
