About the Role
NBCUniversal is seeking a Security Manager for its Global Security Operations team at 30 Rock. This role involves maintaining the safety of the site, employees, guests, and audience members, requiring a hands-on manager with strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee emergency evacuation procedures, active shooter training, and threat assessments.
- Serve as a strong leader and mentor to the guard staff, managing up to twenty personnel.
- Oversee the training of guards in their areas of responsibility.
- Verify that the process of loading and unloading live studio audiences is consistent with standards.
- Plan and execute drills to ensure staff preparedness for crisis scenarios.
- Assess and adjust the team's security posture in real time.
- Verify that security devices and equipment are accounted for and in proper working order.
- Provide proper documentation of all incidents.
- Initiate preliminary investigations of incidents.
- Serve as the security point of contact during the tour.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to adapt security posture in real time.
- Work flexible hours, including holidays and extended hours.
- Provide security escorts for talent off property.
- Perform Risk Assessments and Security Plans for special events and remote shoots.
- Effectively supervise contracted security during daily production and large-scale events.
- Travel nationally/internationally with Today Show for remote shoots.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent working experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in law enforcement, military, corporate security, or a related role with executive-level experience.
- Experience coordinating and implementing strategies and plans for large-scale event security.
- Experience working in a multi-agency, collaborative environment.
- Experience in a supervisory role for staff or contracted employees.
- Experience managing a budget and working with vendors and consultants; demonstrated negotiating skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Operational experience and the ability to respond quickly to security concerns in real time.
- Must be willing to be on call and available 24/7 for emergencies.

- HR 218 or New York State Security License a plus

- Strong working knowledge of emerging trends of corporate security and/or law enforcement information managerial programs
