About the Role
Metergy Solutions Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist to join their Billing department. This role is responsible for participating in tasks to meet Key Success Indicators and Objectives within the department, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing for residents and clients, timely processing of bulk bills, and accurate processing of client remittances.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices within established SLAs while maintaining a high quality standard.
- Ensure resident bills are accurate and generated according to established bill cycles.
- Set up new accounts for Billing & Settlements processes, including account fees and credits.
- Resolve and close exceptions, identifying areas for operational process improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Implement solutions to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of billing operations.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, collaborating with relevant departments.
- Make recommendations, execute, and test changes, improvements, and controls to billing processes.
- Handle client escalations and proactively seek ways to improve customer experience.
- Perform other duties in the Billing operations department as assigned.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on billing procedures, systems, and best practices.
Requirements
- University Degree or Business Administration Certificate or related equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Billing Operations preferred.
- Basic knowledge of SQL is required.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite Products (Excel Advanced skills required – Pivots, VLOOKUP & if statements).
- Oracle CC&B system knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated, pro-active, flexible professional with the ability to adapt to a complex and vastly changing environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks while meeting challenging deadlines.
