About the Role
The Associate, UK FX Sales will contribute to the overall success of the FX platform, ensuring individual goals and initiatives are executed to support team strategies and objectives. This role requires compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, and falls under the Certification Regime as a significant harm function.
Responsibilities
- Maximize cross-selling opportunities across GBM business lines to deepen existing relationships and cultivate new ones.
- Conduct industry and product research to support business needs.
- Assist in preparing client presentations, daily market commentary, and providing timely client support.
- Perform various types of analysis using fundamental and technical data.
- Monitor a variety of markets, economic releases, trends, and factors affecting market movement.
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities of the FX team, including trade booking, trade confirmation, CVA management, line sizing, and data management.
- Assist in constructing strategies and marketing materials to promote the development of senior-level client relationships.
- Provide assistance to sales, trading, and structuring staff on the trade floor in executing their day-to-day functions.
- Develop and maintain internal client relationships with key support groups.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for new transactions or structures.
- Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment, supporting the team's vision, values, and business strategy.
- Execute transactions on behalf of clients, generating and maximizing trading profit and client revenues.
- Understand the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Understand the risk profile of customer transactions and implement risk management processes.
- Protect the bank from loss and/or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies, and regulations.
- Pursue effective and efficient operations, ensuring adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Requirements
- Support the ongoing day-to-day operations of the UK FX Sales team.
- Associated Person of the BNS Swap Dealer.
- Maintain strict compliance under all applicable laws and regulations.
- Requires successful completion of the NFA Swaps Proficiency Requirement within 30 days of assuming the role and must be completed prior to engaging in in-scope activity.
- Ensure the team remains compliant with all internal approvals (credit, market risk).
Skills
- Experience in FX or derivatives sales, other capital markets.
- Knowledge of UK/European client requirements in FX risk management.
- Team player with a proven track record of collaboration.
- Ability to maintain a calm disposition in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly and effectively respond to inquiries with confidence.
- Highly organized and results-oriented with demonstrated flexibility.
- Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy, timely processing, and attention to detail are critical.
