About the Role

Sage Recovery & Wellness Center is seeking a Group Therapist to work with adults struggling with substance use and/or mental health in a virtual/hybrid Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role offers the opportunity to work with adults, adolescents, couples, or families.

Responsibilities

Facilitate virtual individual and group therapy.
Conduct psychosocial and diagnostic assessments within the 72-hour intake timeframe.
Complete and maintain client-related paperwork, including daily treatment notes, master treatment plans, treatment plan updates, progress-based notes, and discharge summaries.
Assist clients in developing relapse-preventative plans, promoting continuity of care and improvement, and aiding in the step-down process from treatment.
Refer clients or family members to community resources or specialists as needed.
Maintain contact with each client’s professional and personal support system, as needed.
Counsel family members on understanding and supporting the client through their treatment.
Attend weekly staff meetings, consultation meetings, and on-site trainings.
Maintain requirements to keep license current (LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT, LCDC, etc.).
Provide coverage at the Westlake location for assessments, group therapy, etc., as needed.

Requirements

Texas master’s license in counseling or social work (LMSW, LCSW, LPC-A, LPC, LMFT).
Degree from an accredited institution, verified by State and/or National boards.
Experience with substance use is beneficial.

Skills

Proficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders using evidence-based methodology.
Knowledge of efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with chronic mental health and substance abuse issues.
Knowledge of 12-step and other sober support groups.
Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to mental health conditions (e.g., disease model, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy).
Experience/Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Basic or Intensive Training) is a significant plus.
Knowledge of basic psychopharmacology and medical terminology.
Familiarity with the stages of change and stages of recovery.
Case-management skills.
Knowledge of local resources for outside referrals.
Experience conducting therapeutic groups.
