About the Role
Pylon is seeking its first Controller to own all accounting functions, manage third-party relationships, and support the company's growth from Series B onwards. This is a foundational role reporting to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close processes, consolidations, and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee AR (Order-to-Cash) and AP (Procure-to-Pay) processes, collaborating with sales, rev ops, legal, and operations teams.
- Implement and manage systems for business scaling, including ERP and reporting infrastructure.
- Design and implement robust internal controls and establish audit-ready processes.
- Leverage AI agents and automation to reduce manual workflows like transaction categorization and reconciliations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
Requirements
- Professional experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role at a high-growth venture-backed start-up.
- Experience owning a full-cycle close process and audit process.
- Experience building or improving systems and processes from the ground up.
- Deep technical accounting knowledge including ASC 606 and multi-entity consolidations.
- CPA required.
